MICRONEEDLING with PRP
Microneedling with PRP is the ultimate skin-transforming spa treatment.
At Causey Med Aesthetic, we take a small blood sample and place it into a centrifuge that spins the sample at a high speed to isolate the Platelet Rich Plasma. The PRP is applied topically to the skin while the Microneedling treatment is being done. Platelet Rich Plasma is a concentration of platelets in the blood that are crucial to the healing of wounds. Applying PRP after Microneedling is more effective than direct injections of PRP to your skin. The microchannels from the needles allow for even distribution across the treatment area and absorption into deeper layers of the skin. PRP initiates a localized stem cell response. Over the weeks and months following treatment, this stem cell response recruits collagen-producing cells to heal tissue that has been damaged or lost through the aging process.

The result is healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated!

Several studies have compared the effects of Microneedling with and without the application of PRP, and the results are clear! Just one session of Microneedling with PRP produces similar results to multiple sessions of Microneedling without PRP. It depends on how quickly you want to see results, and how much time you’re willing to invest in the treatment.
As a treatment for scarring, fine lines, and wrinkles, both Microneedling and PRP work well. However, their true power is unleashed when used together. If you’ve struggled with deep acne scars for years and nothing seems to help, contact Dr. Danielle Causey to see if this treatment could be right for you!

How does platelet-rich plasma therapy work when combined with microneedling?
Platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) works well when combined with microneedling.
Your blood is mainly a liquid called plasma that also contains small solid components: red and white blood cells, and platelets. Platelets house proteins that include growth factors, and they’re especially useful for healing injuries.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy involves drawing a small amount of your blood, separating the platelets and concentrating the blood in a centrifugation process, so the platelets are five to 10 times more concentrated than average.
This enhanced concentration of growth factors injected into the area can help speed up the healing process and further enhance the effects of microneedling. The PRP helps to boost the tone and texture of your skin and can reduce the appearance of:
-
Scarring
-
Stretch marks
-
Fine lines and wrinkles

Microneedling with PRP can even decrease the amount of adult, hormone-related breakouts many people experience.
