BOTOX® or Xeomin®: Which Wrinkle Relaxer Is Right for You?
BOTOX® and Xeomin® are both botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators used to temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity and soften dynamic expression lines. While they work in similar ways, their formulations, FDA-approved uses, dosing, and individual patient responses are not identical.
There is no universally “best” wrinkle relaxer. Dr. Danielle Causey selects the appropriate product based on your facial anatomy, muscle strength, treatment history, aesthetic goals, and how much natural movement you want to preserve.
BOTOX®
BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most recognized wrinkle-relaxer brands. It is used to temporarily improve dynamic lines caused by repeated facial movement, including forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet.
BOTOX® may be the appropriate choice based on your treatment area, previous experience, desired result, and Dr. Causey’s evaluation of your facial movement.
Xeomin®
Causey Med Aesthetic considers Xeomin® is an FDA-approved wrinkle relaxer containing incobotulinumtoxinA. Its formulation contains the active therapeutic ingredient without the accessory proteins found in some other neuromodulator formulations.
Xeomin® can be used to temporarily soften targeted muscle activity and may be recommended based on your anatomy, treatment history, personal preferences, and individual response.
